“La asignación de los centros de votación en el Partido de Escobar no responden a la configuración geográfica del distrito, y por lo tanto miles de vecinos deben trasladarse kilómetros en cada elección para poder votar», subrayó Costa.
El bloque de concejales de Juntos Escobar presentó esta semana un proyecto que busca adecuar los circuitos electorales del Partido de Escobar a la distribución geográfica de las localidades y sus habitantes.
El proyecto hace referencia a los artículos del Código Electoral Nacional que establecen las divisiones territoriales y agrupación de electores, enfatizando en que dicha normativa señala que «los circuitos agruparán a los electores en razón de la proximidad de los domicilios».
«No puede ser que los vecinos de 24 de Febrero tengan que ir a votar a Lambaré, o los de Loma Verde a Matheu. Es necesario reconocer que hoy la asignación de los centros de votación en el Partido de Escobar no responden a la configuración geográfica del distrito, y por lo tanto miles de vecinos deben trasladarse kilómetros en cada elección para poder votar», señaló el autor del proyecto, Roberto Costa.
El edil además remarcó que: «Se crearon dos localidades, la de 24 de Febrero y Loma Verde, que no se ven reflejadas en la actual configuración de los circuitos. Esta readecuación responde al pedido de cientos de vecinos, muchos de los cuales pierden su derecho a votar por no tener los medios para trasladarse».
El proyecto señala que la modificación de los circuitos electorales conlleva numerosas tareas registrales y de administración electoral por lo que debe realizarse con la suficiente antelación, e insta al Poder Ejecutivo local a arbitrar todos los medios necesarios para garantizar que en los futuros comicios cada vecino del distrito sea asignado al centro de votación más cercano a su domicilio, y que de esta manera se respeten los derechos de los ciudadanos escobarenses.
