¿Cuándo y dónde nació el Club Atlético “Boca del Tigre” de Escobar?

A 95 años de su fundación. Por Alfredo Melidore (*).

En el tradicional almacén del inmigrante italiano, don Carlos Misenta, se juntaban, allá por 1927, un grupo de jóvenes vecinos, amantes de la práctica del fútbol, quienes fundaron el Club Atlético Boca del Tigre, el miércoles 1º de junio de ese año.

El mencionado comercio ( ver foto ) se ubicaba en la actual esquina de Tapia de Cruz y Belgrano (hoy COTO) , aledaño a la vivienda de la familia Misenta, en cuyo comedor se llevó a cabo la reunión fundacional de la entidad, y se labró el acta inicial que llevó la firma de Alfredo Gómez como presidente y de Carlos Misenta (hijo) en la función de secretario.

Los restantes socios fundadores fueron: Atilio Scarafoni, Horacio “Picho” Misenta, Oscar Gómez, Antonio “Negro” Rettacco, Benito Vidal y Félix Palmieri.

Pocos días después, el 9 de junio, luego de una conscripción de socios, se nombró la comisión directiva definitiva.

Las reuniones del flamante Consejo Directivo del Club se comenzaron a desarrollar semanalmente y en horas de la noche, en el interior del local de Peluquería de Alfredo Gómez (Belgrano casi esquina Tapia de Cruz), y allí comenzó a tomar cuerpo esta popular institución, que como ya dijimos, se inició a partir de la práctica del más popular de los deportes: el fútbol…

Los primeros partidos de la novel institución se jugaron en una cancha denominada “El Eucalipto”, ubicada en la esquina de las calles Los Lazaristas y Juan P. Asborno, a unos 100 metros del zanjón “El Tajamar”.

Algunos de los primeros jugadores que defendieron los colores Azul y Oro de “Boca del Tigre” por esos años, fueron: Antonio Rettacco, Carlos y Horacio Misenta, Atilio y José Scarafoni, Carlos Rossi, Segundo Monferré, José Stía, Benito Vidal, y los hermanos Antonio, Telmo y Silvio González, entre otros…

Para culminar esta breve recordación, publicamos una antigua fotografía que nos muestra al equipo de la segunda división del Club Atlético Boca del Tigre de Escobar:
